What’s up! Bridge and Borough readers. I hope you guys are having a nice and relaxing Memorial Day. I found 5 events - mostly focused around Brooklyn.

Some people say that summer starts on June 1st. I say that they’re wrong. SUMMER begins today! See y’all at the beach!

NYC Beaches Open (Monday 5/26, 10am-6pm) - All 14 miles of NYC's public beaches are officially open for swimming! Lifeguards will be on duty daily from 10am-6pm through the season. Hit up Coney Island, Brighton Beach, Rockaway, or any of the other spots for that first beach day of summer.

Brooklyn's Memorial Day Parade (Monday, 5/26 at 11 a.m.) - Bay Ridge - starting at the corner of 78th Street and Third Avenue.

Game Night at Brooklyn Art Haus! (Tuesday, 5/27 at 7pm)

Manhattanhenge - (Wednesday 5/28-7/12) That magical time when the sunset aligns perfectly with Manhattan's street grid, creating an incredible photo op down the avenues. It's like Stonehenge but with skyscrapers! Best viewing spots are usually the wide cross streets (14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd, 57th). Get there early for the best shots.

Smith Street Festival (Saturday, 5/31 · 10am - 6pm) - Live music, food, bounce attractions and more.
